At Vinos Iberian we own 3 wineries from different 3 D.O.’s which are Ribera del Duero, Toro and Priorat and we are unique compared to the many other Spanish wineries or wine groups that we have one collection point for all our wines, giving us a great advantage of offering a great and personalised service and reducing your logistic costs.
RIBERA DEL DUERO
After many years of work, in 1997 we found the perfect location on the right bank of the Duero River in Pesquera de Duero, specifically in the “Finca el Quiñón”, which has a forest of holm oaks called “Jaro”, the name that gives life to our winery “Viña del Jaro”.
The property is located along three terraces formed by the Duero riverbed, which makes it complex but also perfect for obtaining highly characterful wines. At present, of the 49 ha dedicated to vineyards, 44 are used for Tempranillo, which coexist with 2.5 ha of Merlot, 2.5 ha of Cabernet Sauvignon and 1 ha of the Albillo Mayor native white variety.
TORO
Made 100% from the native variety par excellence, ‘Tinta de Toro’, these wines have a personality marked by the climate and soil. ‘Yaso’ is a young, medium-aged wine, modern but respectful of the area’s winemaking history. Another of our wines is ‘Yaso For de Matteria’, a wine aged in French oak barrels for 14 months with grapes selected from the oldest vineyards. And finally, ‘Yaso Matteria Viñas Viejas’, made from vines over a hundred years old and aged for over 26 months in French oak barrels; a wine that gives its name to the tradition of the ‘Tinta de Toro’ variety.
PRIORAT
The estate is made up of 42 hectares of which only 22 hectares are vineyards; these are classified into plots according to altitude, soils, variety and orientation. The vines rest on terraces of slate soil and follow the contours of the land, enabling workable slopes which, in turn, promote sustainable winegrowing that is adapted to the environment.
